Our YMCA is Open!

With the COVID-19 pandemic, our lives, our YMCA and the way we do things will look differently moving forward. 

We have implemented new systems in our YMCA to improve safety and sanitation, based on the government “Restoring Safe Services” guidelines. As we move to the “next normal” it will have an impact on our staff, volunteers, members and participants.

Limited Capacity

We are open for members and new memberships only for the time being. Members will book ahead during pre-determined time blocks and we will be closing the facility for cleaning in between these blocks.

Now open:

  • Extended hours 
  • Public & Lap Swimming
  • Fitness Classes
  • Online booking

Preventing the Spread

Members will be asked to go through a COVID-19 screening questionnaire during each visit.

Enhanced Cleaning & Sanitation

These are some of the new protocols we have implemented to keep everyone safe:

  • Single entrance/exit doors
  • Closing for blocks of time to clean thoroughly 
  • High-touch surfaces will be cleaning frequently
  • All equipment will be cleaned regularly
  • We have added new disinfecting equipment
  • Equipment spaced for distancing

Physical Distancing

Maintain a 2 metre distance from other users at all times. Some pieces of equipment will be closed, and others will be removed, to maintain proper physical distancing. 

Hours of Operation

Monday—Friday 6:00 am to 9:00 pm & Saturdays 8:00 am —1:00 pm
*Fitness Centre and pools close 15 minutes before building close
The Dood Cristall Family YMCA will be closed on Monday, September 7th (Labour Day).

Locker Rooms

Locker rooms and showers are CLOSED. We are asking members to please shower at home. Plus members will be able to access their lockers only. As per regulations, towel service will not be available. Showers will be open for those using the pools only. 

Booking Your Workout

Online Booking Now Open!

We now have online booking for workouts, swimming and fitness classes. You can also call Member Services at 204-727-5456.

Once your scheduled time is over, all members will be asked to leave so we can clean and get ready for our next booking.

Not Comfortable Yet?

We have extended our Membership Hold program. You can put your membership on Hold for up to 16 weeks. It starts back up when the Hold period is over. If you are not quite ready to come back, putting your membership on Hold is the best option. You now have the option of putting your membership on Hold via email.
